Age discrimination in the workplace is a real problem. The Dallas age discrimination lawyers have experience representing employees who have been terminated, demoted, harassed, or otherwise discriminated against because of their age.
Age discrimination in the workplace can occur in various ways. For example, age discrimination can exist in the following ways:
Both the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (“ADEA”) and Texas state law prohibits employers from discriminating against employees who are 40 or older. Also, the Older Workers Benefits Protection Act (“OWBPA”) provides some additional protections for older workers experiencing layoffs. The OWBPA requires that employers give older workers 45 days to consider any severance agreement. Additionally, the OWBPA gives older workers 7 days to revoke their severance after signing it.
These laws can be complicated and have short deadlines. Contact our Dallas age discrimination attorneys if you have experienced any of the above treatment.
